Andrew is 6 months!!

My little man turns 6 months old today!! He is weighing in at 20lbs and is 27 inches long. It is crazy that he is growing up SO fast!!

He is a very happy baby. He goes down for naps and bed really easy IF you don't wait too long to put him down. He is rolling ALL OVER the place!! He loves his brother Tyler and putting everything he can get his hands on in his mouth! He is still trying to get the hang of eating by spoon. We finally found a food he likes...applesauce. We will continue trying different foods and hopefully find some more things he likes! He is going to get in trouble as soon as he starts getting around, I can tell by this look!!

He recently found his tongue and has been playing with it the last couple days. It is really cute and funny! He curls it up and makes it super pointy at the end. He is such a joy in our home! He has his dad wrapped around his finger...his mom too!! I can't wait to see what the next six months bring!!

Andrew is FIVE months old!!

Andrew turns FIVE MONTHS old today!! It is hard to believe he growing SO fast!! He is such a good baby!! He is happy most of the day and he takes great naps! We have tried feeding him food a few times and I think he will get the hang of eating soon! We also decided that he is old enough to learn to drive so we gave it a shot...

LOL!!! It was really cute how he grabbed on while we were waiting for my mom so we got this great picture.

He is VERY curious about everything and grabs EVERYTHING that comes close to him!!

He is very happy and smiles all the time and laughs A LOT!!

He LOVES his toes!! Everytime we take his pants off to change his diaper he grabs them and puts them in his mouth. It is quite cute and funny!

Family history

I have been attending a family history class at church on Sunday's and it has been A LOT of fun. Last week we were talking about family traits and if we have ever wondered where we get certain traits from. Andrew has these cute little ears that poke out at the top and both Mike and I have wondered where they come from. I got the big McArthur ears and so did Tyler, poor guy, but we had never seen the cute ears that poke out.

Well I was looking through some old pedigree charts that I have, looking for the name Andrew. I knew that I had found it on a pedigree chart but couldn't remember which one. I thought it would be fun to find out who the Andrew was that we named Andrew after. While flipping through my file I found this picture...
It is my great grandpa Wilford Lorenzo Peterson. And look at those ears!!! It was SO much fun to find this picture and find where those ears come from!! I think I am really going to be able to get into this family history stuff!!

He is so silly and plays a lot with his faces. It is so fun! It is easy to get him to play with me and get him to laugh. He also plays with his hands a lot, you can kind of see it in the pics. He makes us laugh a lot and brings so much joy to our lives!!

He finally got the whole thing figured out on October 13th. I missed the first time of course, but I caught this one a couple hours later.

My HAPPY boys

Here are my HAPPY boys! It is pretty rare to get a picture of both of them smiling! They were having a major conversation this day and it must have been funny because they were both laughing. I love seeing how my boys interact with each other!! It is SOO fun having them in my life! They bring me such joy!

Halloween 2010

We had a great Halloween this year! It was a little difficult to come up with an idea for costumes, but when it came it was a fantastic idea and turned out great!! Here are my boys...farmer Tyler and his "crop" Andrew.

Mike did a great job making Tyler's tractor. It turned out great and he did it in record time! It only took about 90 minutes. I was pretty sure it was not going to happen, but it did!

Here we all are at the ward trunk-or-treat. We had a very fun evening!

Andrews FOUR months old

This post is a little late, but my little man turned four months old. He is growing like crazy!! He has started rolling over, mostly from back to front but has gone front to back a few times. He loves playing with his toys and smiles A LOT!! He is ticklish on his chest, especially when he is getting dressed! I LOVE to hear him laugh. He loves to bath and talk to Tyler.

We gave him his first try at rice cereal. He was not a huge fan!! We tried it for a couple days and decided that he wasn't too interested so we are waiting a little bit then we will try again.

He did like playing peek a boo with his bib though!!

He weighed in at 16lbs 8 oz and was 26.25 inches.

Andrew is TWO MONTHS old!!

Where does time go? I can't believe that Andrew is TWO MONTHS OLD already!!

We took him in for his check-up and he weighed 14lbs 2oz

and was 24.5 inches long.

Andrew LOVES his swing and bouncer.

As long as he is moving he is happy!

He has started playing with a few toys. He likes his phone and especially likes his swinging animal friends that play music for him...see videos below!

He is such a happy baby and we love having him in our home!! He sleeps pretty well and that lets mom sleep well and I REALLY appreciate that!!

He like to play with his tongue and he sticks it out a lot. It is really long too!

He loves to suck on his hands. He gets about half of his fist in there most of the time. One of these days he is going to get the whole fist in there and not know what to do!

We have him and Tyler do tummy time together...neither one of them like it much!! but it is good for both of them!

He likes to tell stories too! I caught this one on video today.

We might be partial, but we think he is REALLY cute and we love him very much!! It is hard to believe how fast he is growing but it is SO fun to watch him grow and develop new abilities!!

Andrew has been getting better at playing with his toy!

I got these videos today. They are all about the same but he talks a little more in one and smiles good in one so I thought I would just share all of them. It is kind of crazy how fast he is growing!

We had Andrew's blessing yesterday, August 22, 2010. It was a great day and both Andrew and Mike did a great job! Andrew started to "help" with the blessing, but he stopped so Mike did it on his own. The circle included Mike, Ken, Danny, Our Bishop Jade Millington, and first counselor Steven Parker.

Andrew looked mighty handsome in his outfit and the blanket that grandma Corky made for him worked perfectly for this special day!!!

He was one happy guy to have his blessing!

My happy little man!!

It is AMAZING how fast Andrew is growing!! I wish he would slow down!! We keep saying he has to hurry and grow up so he can help with Tyler, but we don't really mean it!!

He has two amazing grandpa's and this shirt applies to both of them!!
He has started enjoying his bath time A LOT more then he did at first. It is fun to give him baths. He is getting a little big for the sling part of the tub so next time we will try without it.

New recipe

I tried a new recipe tonight and I thought it was really good so here it is for all you to try!!

Pasta with sugar snap peas, feta & mint (I got this from the June 2010 issue of Parents magazine)

8 oz Penne pasta
8 oz sugar snap peas
2 Tbsp olive oil
1 Tbsp unsalted butter
2 cloves garlic, minced
zest of 1 lemon
1 Tbsp lemon juice
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
2 oz crumbled feta cheese
2 Tbsp chopped fresh mint
Red pepper flakes (optional)

Bring large pot of water to a boil. Add pasta and cook according to directions. Add the peas 3 minutes before the pasta is ready. Drain.

In same pan, heat the oil and butter over medium heat. Add the garlic and lemon zest and saute 1 minute (if the garlic begins to color, take pan off the heat). Stir in lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Quickly add back the drained pasta and peas, tossing well to combine.

Add the feta, red pepper flakes (if desired) and more black pepper to taste and stir gently to combine. Enjoy!

A couple things I thought might make this dish better...more veggies!! Next time I will add zucchini and yellow squash probably maybe a bell pepper too and definitely chicken!! I also left out the mint because I don't use it much and didn't want to waste the money! I thought it was fine without it! I did not use the red pepper flakes either. I also forgot to add the peas to the pasta to cook but thought it was great with them raw.

Give this a try and let me know what you think. It was SUPER easy to make and it was light and refreshing for the hot summer!! ENJOY!!

Andrew is ONE month

Andrew turned one month old on July 29th. He is growing like a weed!! He weighed in at 11 lbs 6 oz and was 22.5 inches long.

He is starting to smile...

He likes to play with his tongue and often sticks it out...
And he LOVES his big brother, and Tyler loves him too!!
We are LOVING having this little guy in our home!! He has also started to figure out how his voice works and will let out little squawks once in a while.
He sleeps well at night too which is good for me because I might go crazy if I didn't get sleep. I think Heavenly Father knew that I needed a good baby so he sent Andrew!! He is a great baby!

Best friends

Tyler and Andrew are starting to get use to having each other around! Tyler is pretty good at snuggling with Andrew and doesn't try to push him away any more.

They even fell asleep snuggling!

On the way home from grandma Corrine's Andrew was a little on the hungry side and got upset when we put him in the car. We were trying to tell him we would be home soon and get him to calm down but that wasn't working too well. When we were about half way home he calmed down and we were not real sure why until we got home. This is how I found him...

He LOVES to get his fingers and suck on them. He got it really good this time!!
